The overall land area consisted of 30 hectares or 7.4 acres of land in the original proposals by a number of land owners to develop the land at Newtownmountkennedy.
A new network of drainage proposals had to be prepared and surveyed in respect of the foul drainage system for Newtown to Kilcoole and onto the treatment works at Greystones.
The line of drainage was primarily by gravity with the introduction of two pumping station over the higher elevations.
Originally planned in 1996, the development has now commenced with the construction of 800 houses over the next ten years with 30 acres of central parkland.
